the little things in life

I recently bought a Bounce Dryer bar and I'm so happy with it! Usually I'm not so excited about laundry products, especially since I work at P&G, but this one is such a brilliant idea that i can't believe it took P&G so long to launch it. Basically, it's a bar of fabric softener that sticks to the inside of your dryer. you don't have to remember to put in a sheet each time you do the laundry and, better yet, you don't have the leftover Bounce sheet to throw out when you are folding the laundry!

I'm easily satisfied.

36w2d and reno status

i had my son at 37w1d. if i make it 6 more days from today, i would be more pregnant than i have ever been in my life! i don't want the baby to come until at least the due date because renos are still continuing. the majority of the dusty part is now done. the kitchen tiles are done, the living room potlights have been installed, the upstairs bathroom is just missing the toilet and the shower door. what remains to be done are the stairs, enclosing a storage area under the stairs, installing a vent/medicine cabinet/light fixture/toilet in the ensuite bathroom, and painting. it's been a month of renos now but it's all worth it.

B&J ice cream

there's something about eating Ben & Jerry's ice cream straight from the carton. Some thoughts and feelings that come to mind: Exhilaration, over-indulgent, guilt, claiming one's rights, self-acknowledgement, lack of self-control, I deserve it, will pay for this later, just this once, no one will know, pure joy.

baby dropped?

On Friday, I started to feel really pregnant for the first time. I've gained 30lbs so far which is great but I think the baby dropped on Friday because I now feel like there's a basketball between my legs. I'm walking slower and there's no avoiding the waddling, no matter how hard I try. I'm at 34w2d today so I'm hoping that this is not a sign that baby will come out soon. We are still severely under renovations.

labour & delivery hopes and fears

6 more weeks to my due date, here are some things that i'm worried about...

- labour will progress so fast that we won't have time to: pick up my son from daycare, drop him off with someone, and head to the hospital
- getting an epidural
- having bad nurses/doctors... or even worse, students!
- someone making a mistake
- need for an emergency c-section
- birth complications
- tearing/episiotomy
- the pain post-delivery related to tearing/episiotomy
- baby will come before my last planned day of work (Oct 8)

here are my hopes...
- vaginal birth
- quick labour so that i won't have time to get an epidural
- carrying to full term
- healthy baby
- good latch and being able to breastfeed without supplementing with formula
